My Message to You...

Dearest Family & Friends,

I hope this letter finds you well in whatever season of life the Lord has you in.  The Lord has blessed me greatly in this current season.  I am in my second year at Liberty University and love it.  I have the privilege of serving as a spiritual life director on campus, allowing me to minister to and lead 63 girls on my hall.  The Lord has definitely been at work changing and growing me.  The past few months, I have been learning what it means to really hear God’s voice.  Perhaps the most unexpected and yet the most exciting part of this has been receiving his call to go to India this summer.  While I am not sure why he has chosen this time or these circumstances, I will be so bold in saying that I know God is waiting for me to follow in obedience by going to this country and sharing what it means to really LIVE!

This entire process has been a huge leap of faith, but God has proven his faithfulness and provision already.  In taking the steps to go to India this summer, I have really had to put a lot of prayer and thought into who I would encourage to partner with me in this ministry.  In doing so, the Lord brought your name to mind.  I’m not sure if the Lord would have you partner with me either financially or prayerfully, but if nothing else I desire that you be encouraged in seeing what the Lord can and will do.  Psalms 138:8a says “The Lord will fulfill his purpose for me…”  With my confidence founded in that simple truth, I am truly excited to share this vision and journey with you.

I will be joining a team of 12 traveling to India with Light Ministries in May of 2011.  The Lord has already provided the money for my passport, but the total cost of the trip remains $3,200.  With your help, we will be spending just over 2 weeks teaching English and Bible stories, prayer walking and building relationships with the natives in many ways.  The country is saturated with Hinduism and ideas of false salvation.  People place themselves along the banks of the local Gangese River washing themselves in the filthy water that they believe washes away all their sins.  How awesome of an opportunity for my team and me to present them with Jesus Christ, the true Living Water (John 4:7-14)!

I do not write this letter with any form of regret or shame.  God has work that needs to be done in India and he has called us to fulfill it.  I ask for your support that you may experience the joy of sharing Christ with the unreached and seeing more souls in heaven for eternity.  I ask that you prayerfully consider contributing either financially or prayerfully and letting God work!

Understandably one letter is not going to tell you the needs of or my heart for India.  For this reason, I have created a blog specifically so that you can learn more and stay updated with details before and after the trip.  I have even provided a personal video above explaining my heart for India.  Check it out; even share it with you friends!

Sincerely,
Rebekah
